The string out on Warren Hill this morning

The waterproofs have been able to remain in the tack room today thankfully. It has been overcast throughout the morning but so far the rain has stayed away. The two year olds headed over to Railway Land today and cantered on the grass that runs alongside the Al Bahathri for the first time. Everything went smoothly and we continue to move gently forward with them. We have made the one declaration today for Friday, Flinty Fell. I shall speak about her in Friday’s blog.

It seems very early in the year to be thinking about Royal Ascot but today is the launch of the Royal Ascot 2016 style guide at the Ritz Hotel. I think I shall wait until a little later in the year before I make any decisions on which outfits I shall be wearing come June.

There is some high class action at Meydan on Saturday. There are two Group 1 races supported by a Group 2 and a trio of Group 3s. It will be fascinating to see Tryster tackling Group 1 company as well as seeing how Postponed fares on his reappearance in the 1m4f Group 2.

Finally I would like to wish Victoria Pendleton a safe passage in the 320 at Wincanton today. Her Fakenham unseat was unfortunate and it looked a lot worse at full speed than when you analysed it in slow motion. She has undertaken a challenge that requires great bravery and skill and whether she makes Cheltenham or not she has done incredibly well to get this far.
