Dutch Uncle

A miserable morning here at HQ and there is no sign of the rain stopping. The first group of Yearlings headed out onto the heath to experience the wide open spaces at the start of the week and they look to be a nice bunch at this early stage, we have a full sister to Mecca’s Angel here and she looks to be a lovely athletic type.

We have two runners today at Kempton and Alligator is our first runner in the 5:55. He had a terrible draw at Chelmsford on his last start and could never get competitive. The handicapper has dropped him a pound and that has allowed him to drop in grade this evening. He is not ideally drawn again in stall nine but we hope the first time cheek pieces will help him and dropping back to a mile should be in his favour. His best form is on a par with those at the head of the market and if he can reproduce that he has a solid each way chance. Dominating ran his best race yet when second over course and distance and received an entry yesterday for a Nursery on Monday. Moneyoryourlife makes his all-weather debut but ran his best race yet when third in a weak Nursery at Leicester at the start of October. Still Waiting looks the pick of the unexposed types but as you would expect for a 0-60 it does not look a deep race.

Dutch Uncle runs in the valuable Middle Distance Final at 7:25 and it looks a very competitive affair. He is coming back from a near four month break having been turned out at grass during the summer. I would expect him to come on for the run but he did run a big race when second in the Rosebery to Barsanti over course and distance on his first start of 2016. The three year olds look to be the biggest dangers with Sixties Groove looking a threat on his fourth in a red hot handicap at Newmarket. The six year old Sennockian Star has tumbled down the weights during 2016 and ran a close up fourth at Doncaster in a competitive handicap recently, he has not won since June 2015 but he is highly likely to get the run of the race from stall one as the majority of the runners need to be held up.
