We have been having very mixed weather here in Newmarket, Monday morning started off in beautiful sunshine but by the afternoon rain was falling and it has been a mixture of blue skies and dark grey clouds since. I have started working some of the older horses on the grass as we prepare for the start of the turf season in early April and it is exciting to think we are now less than a month away!

Solajan is our only runner today at Lingfield in the 3:30. He started our seconditis a couple of weeks ago and it would be nice if he can be the one that breaks it today. He was beaten by a horse with experience on debut and with normal improvement he should go very close.

It is a tight knit race however and Arsenio Lupin was unlucky last time although the first and third from that race have since let the form down. He shapes as if he will stay this trip well. Padrinho has been well backed and has been gelded over the Winter, he showed a little promise in two strong Maidens last year. Waterville Dancer ran to a similar level as us on debut and he cannot be discounted. Flying Flynn has it all to do on the formbook and Cookie’s Star makes her racecourse debut. Our colt appeared to take his recent run well and we will find out this afternoon how much he has benefited from it.
