Walking Home

It is getting warmer in the mornings and it was a beautiful morning out on the heath today. We worked some two year olds on the Flat Gallop and I am pleased with how they are progressing. I have traded in the Jeep or the Green Machine as I fondly called it as it had reached the end of its shelf-life. Kev the car rang me this morning to tell me that the police pulled him over on the Dual carriageway as he was only doing 27mph nursing it home! I have now headed to Chester which is always a fantastic meeting and one of the highlights of the calendar.

We have the one runner today at Chester in the last, Red Verdon was very unlucky last time when he struggled to get a run on numerous occasions before doing his best work late on in the race. He shaped as though this one and a half mile trip will suit and Ryan Moore takes the ride, I hope he can run very well. He should come on for the race as his last run was his seasonal reappearance.

It was an interesting Chester Cup and Nicky Henderson has taken the Cup from us at La Grange, unfortunately we could not defend the trophy this year. They did not go a fast gallop early and No Heretic battled well to hold off Nakeeta with Silver Concorde doing his best work late on in third.
