Justice First rolling

It was a cooler morning on the heath today and it has remained overcast throughout the day. The horses had an easy morning given that a lot of them did a piece of work yesterday.

We have five runners today starting with Timia in the 2:50 at Lingfield. She has been disappointing since her win there on the all-weather but I am hoping that a combination of the blinkers and a return to seven furlongs will see her run a better race today. Rock ‘N Red runs in the 4:15 at Hamilton and she drops back to a mile after being too keen over ten furlongs last time, it is a stiff mile there and she has a small chance. Blushes found it all happening too quickly for her last time over seven furlongs and so we are stepping her up to nine furlongs in the 5:15 at Hamilton, I hope that can bring about some improvement.

On The Bill contests the 6:50 Maiden at Kempton and I was pleased with his debut at Windsor where he showed enough speed to suggest he can cope with the drop to seven furlongs. He has a good draw and the Champion jockey on board so I hope he can run a big race. Clive Cox is in very good form and Bond Trader would look to be a danger and there are several well- bred newcomers in the field from powerful stables too. Finally we have Justice First running at Kempton over seven furlongs in the 7:20. He has been a star for us and he has a reasonable draw in stall seven, he travelled well last time and although he has a career high mark to defy I hope he can be competitive again this evening.

The Japanese horse A Shin Hikari was most impressive when winning the Prix d’Ispahan Group One at Chantilly, ten lengths is a very long way to beat an ordinary field but he disposed of a horse in second who had recently won a Group One and who was proven on the ground in Dariyan.
