What a fantastic day we have here in HQ and the ground will be drying all the time at the Rowley Mile. It was hard work yesterday with the cross wind and we only have a slight breeze here currently today. I was very lucky to be able to buy the top lot at the first session of the Craven Breeze Up Sale last night for Dr Johnny Hon. He has been a fantastic supporter of mine and I hope the son of Scat Daddy can be successful for us this year. I was very taken by him and he looks a lovely, strong horse.

Global Art shaped as if he needs further in the second division of the Alec Scott Maiden. He got shuffled back from a low draw and made up some ground in the later stages of the race. Global Humor was disappointing but he lost a shoe coming out of the stalls and was not able to accelerate when his rivals quickened off a slow early pace. We think he is better than this and are minded to draw a line through this run.

Conflagration is our only runner today in the 6:15 at Kempton. He has been gelded since his last run and had a nice holiday over the Winter, I hope this will have had a positive effect. Unfortunately he has been drawn in stall 14 and that will make life really difficult but if he can overcome that then he has the ability to run well. It is not a deep race but Reverberation has shown enough in a higher grade to hold strong claims. Dubai Plains and Crystal Casque both filled the runners up spot last time and can’t be ignored. The other horses of interest are those with only three runs under their belt, Arnoul of Metz and Kendergarten Kop as they are the ones most open to improvement. We need some luck in how the race pans out but if we get it then I would not be surprised to see our horse run well.
