Ten Chants

Good morning from Newmarket. We are enduring a slightly frustrating time of things at the moment, and yesterday at Carlisle our three runners failed to trouble the judge.

Hopefully, however, there are still some good chances to look forward to later in the week, and today we head to Nottingham for the novice median auction over six-furlongs at 5.25 with the two-year-old Ten Chants. This lad shows a little bit of knee action and was pulled out of Lingfield at the weekend on account of the quick underfoot conditions, so the fact that the going is on the easy side today should suit.

He has run twice so far, showing similar levels of promise when finishing in the midfield at both Wolverhampton and Newcastle. It will be good to see what he can do on the turf this time, although he does look the sort of horse who will do better in nurseries later in the season. I am hoping to see another encouraging performance, Louis Steward maintains the partnership from Newcastle.

All the best,
Ed.
