Good afternoon from Newmarket! We head to Lingfield today with three runners, and although they are all in competitive events and badly drawn, I hope we will see some encouragement.

Reddiac gets us started in the seven-furlong 0-70 handicap at 5.40, and it will be fascinating to see how this gelded son of Kodiac gets on. He always showed a little ability last year, but failed to get his head in front, and his attitude was called into question. He has also had the aid of a wind operation over the winter, and it is hoped that this procedure and the application of a pair of blinkers will lead to some improvement. He is talented enough to get involved, so let us keep our fingers crossed. Rab Havlin takes the mount.

In the 6.40 Global Acclamation returns to the AW having disappointed on the turf last time out. He is not particularly well drawn, but a 0-60 over six-furlongs around Lingfield is his sort of ticket, and it will be disappointing should he not get involved at the business end of the race in some way, shape or form. Regular partner Liam Keniry rides.

Our final runner today is Triple Genius, who has his second bit of racecourse experience in the mile and a quarter novice at 8.40. We were pleasantly surprised by the son of Mastercraftsman’s promising debut at Wetherby, and he looks like he could yet be a nice prospect for staying handicaps further down the line. The draw has ruined his chances today, as we are stuck widest of all in 14, but I am still looking for encouraging signs nonetheless. Dan Muscutt takes the mount.

All the best,
