Another beautiful day here in Newmarket and there is not a cloud in the sky. We had 7mm of rain earlier in the week but we need a little more as the dry spell has meant the ground is still fast. I took some of the horses to the watered gallop this morning during first and second lot and I was very pleased with how they are progressing. We then headed to the Al Bahathri third lot, it was the first time some of the horses have worked and the horses seem healthier and having had a quiet time we hope things will now pick up.

Amlad ran at Newmarket last Friday and finished fourth in the one mile Maiden. He kept on well and showed plenty of promise, we will more than likely put him away for the season now and bring him back in 2017. He should stay further with a Winter on his back and we hope he can be a nice middle distance prospect at three.

Oceanus is our only runner today, he has had a break after a gelding operation and we hope it will make a difference. He seems to have benefited from it at home and so we are hopeful he can run well. The Godolphin horse Pioneering  is very well bred but he makes his debut and Star Of The East and Zymran have shown promise but our form would look to be stronger at this stage. Caspian Gold and Ode To Glory both make their debuts and come from stables where you would expect them to improve for their first day at school.
