Global Exceed

With the dry spell and sunshine continuing, it has been another busy morning at La Grange as we prepare for afternoon runners at Chepstow, Nottingham, and Ayr.

Global Exceed is first to the starting gates when he lines up in the 1m ‘Download The App At 188bet Handicap’ (2.45). Dr Hon’s 3yr old gelding enjoyed a decent second-half to his 2yr old campaign, winning at Lingfield and Windsor. Today represents a new challenge for Global Exceed as he steps up to a mile for the first time and takes on older horses. It looks a tough heat with Bombshell Bay looking to have the most obvious form claims but Global Exceed ran well on his previous visit to Chepstow and if seeing out the mile trip, I am hoping he will have an EW chance.

Fabulous Red runs at Nottingham in the 1m ‘Read Silvestre De Sousa At 188bet Fillies' Handicap’ (3.25). Despite only 7 fillies going to post, it looks a very competitive heat. All boast strong form for the grade and Mr Arculli’s filly will have to improve to take a hand against this opposition. However, she is still learning and while I am hoping she can be competitive, the experience should stand her in good stead for the rest of the season.

Next at Nottingham I run Indian Warrior in the 6f ‘Follow 188bet On Twitter Handicap’ (5.05). The Hope Partnership’s 3yr old gelding made a pleasing return to the track when beaten 2 ¾ L over 6f at Yarmouth in April. James Doyle again takes the mount and he has come forward nicely at home since his Yarmouth run. He should have an EW chance in a very open looking contest.

The last runner for the day is Perla Blanca who heads to Scotland to compete in the ‘Book Now For The Scottish Sun Raceday Handicap’ (5.45) at Ayr. Perla was purchased by Mrs Smith for daughter Sophie to ride In Amateur contests and they make their debut together today. Both have been going well at home and I think should have every chance in an open looking handicap. I wish the new partnership the very best of luck today.

All the best

Ed
