Global Wealth

It is another sweltering day and the ground is almost certain to be fast at Royal Ascot despite the extensive watering program that has been undertaken. It looks like a fantastic day’s racing and the Coventry looks like a good renewal and a very competitive one.

I was delighted for Al Nafoorah yesterday when she won up at Wetherby. You begin to worry that elusive win will never come when a horse is second so many times but her attitude has never been in question and she did it nicely from the front. Indian Warrior ran a solid race at Windsor in the 5f Novice and just got headed near the line, he can win before too long. Sparte Quercus shaped with promise when fifth in the 1m2f Maiden at Windsor and he will be eligible for handicaps now. Kafoo faded at Nottingham and Silvestre thought he might need 10f.

We run two horses this evening. Global Wealth runs at Beverley in the 6:00. Silvestre liked him at Newmarket and felt he definitely needed 7f, so we are hopeful of a big run this evening. Our main rival looks to be Ventura Knight who has the benefit of three runs and he sets a fair standard.

Zamadance drops back to 10f in the 7:10 at Brighton, he drops in class to a 0-60 and we hope he can be competitive. He does stay 12f but we felt it was worth dropping him in grade and we hope he can cope with the 10f trip. He travels well but lacks a turn of foot which he might not need in this grade. Chunkyfunkymonkey ran well for a long time at Goodwood and has edged down the weights whilst Niseko could be a potential improver that may run well.
