Michael's Mount

It was a miserable start to today but we did not get much rain and tomorrow's meeting is likely to be run on good ground. We worked a few horses on the Limekilns earlier and the ground there was beautiful.

The ground was very testing up at Pontefract yesterday and First Quest failed to handle it in the opening Nursery, he will now head to the sales next week. Vivre Pour Vivre dropped back in trip to ten furlongs but was slightly disappointing.

We run Michael's Mount in the 5:20 at Yarmouth and I am hoping the soft ground will see him return to form. He was far too free at Kempton and he has now disappointed in both starts there. The favourite will be hard to beat if she progresses from her debut run but she has not encountered a soft surface before. Josephine Gordon now rides as Martin Harley has given up his rides for the day after a nasty looking fall, I believe he is ok but is sore.
