Sparkle
It is an overcast day here at HQ and the forecast rain should be on its way soon. The rain is much needed and if the amounts forecast arrive then The July meeting will start on nice ground.
Amlad ran a good race in defeat last night in the last at Windsor. He stuck on resolutely to finish a good second and there are more races to be won with him.
We run two horses later on today. Chocolate Account runs in the 16:55 at Wolverhampton and the race revolves around the very short priced favourite Glittering Jewel. She takes a big class drop having run in Group company last time. Jafetica is an unraced daughter of New Approach who is well-bred and the rest of the field look like they will be up against it. Our filly showed a small glimmer of promise last time and I hope she can show us something to work on this evening but we will struggle to get close to the favourite if Glittering Jewel puts her best foot forward.
Sparkle runs later on in the 18:45 at Brighton. The race has cut up to five runners and I hope she will go well. She has had valid excuses on her last two starts and none of the runners come here in sparkling form. One Big Surprise enjoys Brighton and is favourite on the back of it and Chica De La Noche put in some notable performance last season. Our filly had some solid form last season and a repeat of her Lingfield third would see her go close here.
