A cold start to the day and it turned overcast. It is just starting to rain now and I hope we don’t get too much as we have made some entries for the Craven meeting and it would be great if we can get some decent ground. It continues to be soft everywhere else at the moment. The horses all seemed to be moving well and I was happy with how my string looked.

Henri Bozo the Manager of Ecurie Des Monceaux came to visit La Grange this morning to see the Frankel ex Platonic filly that his stud sold at the Arqana Deauville Sales last August. He was happy with how she looked and I just hope we can get some decent Spring weather soon to help her progress.

I was happy with how Zauffaly ran last night given that the winner is clearly a well handicapped horse. It was a funny race in that they sprinted down the home straight and I think he may improve a little for the application of some headgear.

We made three declarations today and also made eight entries for next Wednesday. After a quiet week it is looking like things will be getting much busier as next week progresses.

I did not end up buying anything at the Ascot Breeze Up Sales yesterday as I was underbidder on a Royal Applause horse that I liked. It was well attended and the top of the market was very strong indeed.
