Bawaader

Good Afternoon from Newmarket. We are in the midst of a quiet week, but it was encouraging to see the debutant Triple Genius run a lovely race on his debut at Wetherby on Tuesday.

Today we run Bawaader in the 5.30 at Chelmsford, a seven-furlong novice for three-year-olds and above. The defection of Jubiloso makes this a little easier, but there is no doubt that our four-year-old son of Dark Angel is up against it giving weight away to his younger rivals.  Bawaader has had two runs to date, both over a mile on the AW, and although he showed a modicum of promise, it has been felt that a drop to seven-furlongs would suit.

So we try the new distance today, and I would hope that he can continue to progress from his previous two efforts, but being drawn out wide in stall 13 makes our life extremely difficult and realistically we are going in hope rather than confidence. Dane O'Neill will be in the saddle.

Best wishes,
Ed.
