Global Revival

It has got a little colder here in Newmarket and it is due to stay like this for a few days. The colder weather can easily knock horses backwards, especially the fillies and therefore I have been going gently with the majority of the horses recently. We have had a quiet week on the racing front after the majority of the all-weather string were sold at the February sales and we only have two or three horses to run over the next two to three weeks. It is only around seven weeks now until the turf season starts and we will soon be very busy once more.

Global Revival runs this afternoon in the 4:15 at Lingfield over 1m2f. He has run well the last twice and I hope he can give another good account of himself this afternoon. He was beaten by a subsequent winner on his last start and in a very competitive affair he has a small chance. African Beat looked a little unlucky when finishing behind a filly that won a strong Kempton handicap last night and the market has spoken in her favour more than once, suggesting she shows plenty at home. Hochfeld is closely matched with African Beat on his Maiden win and has had a short break since disappointing on his last start. Oberyn steps up in class and distance but she knows how to win and there is stamina on her dam’s side so she could well stay today’s trip. Mullarkey has solid form at 7f but the step up to 10f is a big question mark whilst Olympic Legend is entitled to improve from his comeback run and has a small chance if he stays.
