It has been very breezy here in Newmarket today but the rain has stayed away. We had 1mm of rain overnight and I would expect the ground to be perfect on Saturday for the first meeting at the July Course in 2017.

Khitaamy ran respectably in fourth yesterday evening, the winner won extremely well and looks useful. Solajan travelled well through his race but failed to pick up. Zamadance was fourth earlier on and he travelled well before keeping on at the same pace up at Haydock.

We run two horses at Sandown Park this evening. Titan ran with some promise in the Wood Ditton and this slightly easier ground should be in his favour. He has been drawn very wide however in stall 16 and it looks like a strong Maiden. Mafaheem has had three runs but he has a lofty rating of 88 and looks the horse everyone has to beat. The concern would be that he failed to see his race out on debut last September on a surface with some ease in it. Carol has run two solid races this season and she runs in the Fillies’ Handicap at 8:40. Titi Makfi ran a clear career progress when winning well last time and Gallifrey has shown clear promise in both starts and chased home the Oaks winner on debut. Those two fillies look like the main dangers as the betting suggests.
