It is currently dry here in Newmarket although more rain is on its way later. We had a prolonged period of rain yesterday but we were able to find some very nice ground in the morning to work the horses on. I am happy with how they are progressing but a lot of the turf tracks have very soft ground at the moment and so we will have to be a little patient.

Dark Red ran well in the Lincoln last Saturday but he paid late on for trying to go with the impressive winner, there is a nice handicap in him this year. Apex King was a little keen early in the Spring Mile and did not get competitive. We will look to find an easier race for him when he is next seen out. Global Art ran well at Wolverhampton and finished off his race nicely to finish third. He was trapped out wide and the first and second got the run of the race in front, there are races to be won with him.

King Kevin runs this evening in the 7:45 at Wolverhampton. He ran well at Chelmsford last week when second but Nonios had too many guns for him. He is running off of 78 this evening and is due to go up to 82 in the future so we felt he should take his chance. He continues to be in great form at home and takes his racing very well.

Our old friend Dutch Uncle is in the race and although he has not won for a while we are aware of the talent he possesses and he will win off his mark at some stage but his wide draw will not help him as he can often hang left. My Fantasea has been rated a stone higher and he appears to be going the right way now whilst Manchego has a good draw and the handicapper as started to give him a chance. Tan Arabiq was third to two progressive sorts last week and the rest are returning from breaks except for Illustrissime who is out of form. It’s a competitive affair but with a bit of luck I hope our horse can run his race at his favourite track and be bang there.
