Ripper Street

It has been another warm morning in Newmarket and we have had a mini heatwave. I worked a lot of the horses on the Al Bahathri yesterday and we will be getting busy again  in the near future. I bought one yearling at the Doncaster Yearling Sales and I hope that two more will be sent to me to train. It was a very strong sale and there was a lot of competition for the horses that stood out.

Booshbash was second on Monday and I hoped she would win at the furlong pole, she did battle on and was not beaten that far. I hope that I can win a race with her in the near future and a stiffer test on the turf could well bring about some improvement.

We just have one runner today in the 7f Nursery at Leicester. Ripper Street is making his handicap debut and he showed some promise on his first and second starts before seeing too much daylight at Newmarket and running keen on his third start. I hope he can get some cover today and relax, which he will need to do stepping up to 7f. On what we have seen so far the handicapper has not been kind to him but I hope he can run a good race. It looks a competitive Nursery with the favourite Syncopation running well when second on third start and Jasmincita could be well handicapped if she can repeat her second effort where she was fourth behind Fair Eva.
