Sharaakah

It was a beautiful morning in HQ with the sun shining and hardly a cloud in the sky. The horses were all in good form today and we are now on our way to York. I was very impressed with the way Postponed travelled yesterday in the International and he proved he has the speed for ten furlongs as well as the ability to stay a mile and a half. Idaho was also impressive in the Great Voltigeur and the way the race was run made it a good trial for the St Leger, he deserves to be a short priced favourite for Doncaster.

We run two fillies at York this afternoon in the last two races on the card. Sagely takes a step up in trip to twelve furlongs in the Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes. She ran well at Glorious Goodwood behind Sagaciously and her sister has been second in Listed company since. On official ratings she needs to improve eleven pounds to be involved in the finish. Silvestre feels she will stay this trip, so hopefully it can bring about some improvement and she can gain some Black Type. Sharaakah has had excuses the last twice, she was too keen at Newmarket and got stopped on the rail twice at Haydock. If she bounces back to form she will have a good each way chance, our filly has a lot of weight so Josephine Gordon takes three pounds off of her back.

Tom Mclaughlin rode me many winners when he was riding and is currently a vital part of the team at La Grange. He is riding in the Leger Legends race at Doncaster next month and he would greatly appreciate any donations to help him raise funds for some fantastic charities. The Injured Jockeys Fund is a great charity and this race has raised a fantastic amount of money so far with Jack Berry and Dale Gibson working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure its success.
