We have had more rain in HQ this morning but there is a strong suggestion that we will have warmer and drier weather during the Craven meeting. It will be welcome as it has become quite boring watching traditionally informative meetings being washed away by the wet weather.

The weather has meant that we have not had a runner since last Friday. Qaswarah ran with promise when third at Lingfield where she was beaten by a length. She is a big scopey filly who should strengthen throughout the season and there looks to be a race or two in her.

Global Style runs tonight at Chelmsford in the last at 8:45. He showed promise last season in all of his starts at two and I hope we can have a productive season with him this year. The run this evening should bring him forward and I am a little worried that the extended 1m5f trip may stretch him on his first run of the year. Given the weather we have been having this race looked like a good starting point for him and I hope he will run with credit and that we will learn something. Betjeman looks an obvious improver up in trip on his handicap debut whilst Father Ailbe was second to a nice progressive type on his last start. Heather Lark won impressively up at Newcastle when breaking her Maiden and there should be more to come from River Glades now he is handicapped.
