The Travels Begin Again!

Fri 21 February 2014

With the season fast approaching; the horses are beginning to go faster in preparation and we are eagerly anticipating racing starting again. Our first runners of the year will include our old soldiers, Red Cadeaux and Joshua Tree who are limbering up for the next leg of their travels.
Joshua Tree, winner of the Woodbine International (Gp 1) leaves for Dubai next week with the ultimate intention of a run on World Cup Night, Saturday 29th March. He leaves La Grange on Wednesday and all being well, may have his first run in Dubai on Super Saturday which is on Saturday 8th March. Robin Trevor-Jones and Jason Tate will be travelling with him. He is pictured below at La Grange today.

Red Cadeaux, who was second in last year's Dubai World Cup, the richest race in the world, will aim to go one better this year. He will travel out to Dubai a bit later than Joshua Tree and will have his first run on World Cup Night either in The World Cup itself or the Dubai Duty Free Sheema Classic over 12f on the turf. The World Cup is run on the tapeta surface and Red Cadeaux enjoyed this surface last year when finishing second to Animal Kingdom. Steve Nicholson will travel out with his globetrotter and he is pictured below riding Red Cadeaux on Newmarket gallops last year; he is working with Red Avenger, who is also owned by Mr Arculli. The next picture is of Red Cadeaux and Steve when exercising on the track in Singapore last year.
