Amazing Red

After a dry morning the rain has arrived here at HQ and we have had 2mm so far. If it carries on for much longer then the going will be moved to good to soft as it should get into the ground. We worked some horses on the Golden Mile today and it was perfect ground. I will be introducing some nice two year olds next week, mine always improve for their debuts but it will be good to get some more young talent onto the track.

Same Jurisdiction ran a fantastic race in the Oak Tree yesterday. She was a step slow away and had to challenge widest of all, so she did well to finish fifth. This was her best run for us yet and I think we will keep her at 7f now. Zamjar travelled well but he was pushed wide and did not finish his race, he may have just needed it after a break.

We run four horses today. Capricious Cantor ran well when fifth in the Aphrodite and she heads back to Newmarket to contest the Chalice Stakes today. She is very game and always runs her race, she may find a few too good again but if a couple don't improve as expected she could run into a place. Ruysch has shown promise in both starts and has each way claims in the 7F fillies' Novice. If there is an above average newcomer in the race she will be vulnerable but she ran well here last time and seems in good form at home.

Amazing Red is our final runner at Newmarket in the 1m4f at 5:00. He did not stay 1m6f last time after being a little too keen and so we have dropped him back in trip. He has been gelded since he last ran and I hope this will allow him to relax better in his races. We do not have a fantastic draw but I hope we can find some cover and that he can run a respectable race. He has dropped to a workable mark and whilst it is a competitive race it is easier than the last two he has contested. Thundering Blue should improve for the step up in trip whilst Lugano found a fourth race in two weeks beyond him last time and is bred to be a nice horse. Stamford Raffles will find this tougher than last time but is another improver in an open looking handicap.

Global Applause makes his seasonal debut in the 6f Conditions race at Doncaster. We have it to do on paper and this is very much a starting point with him. i hope he can shape with promise but he has had a long layoff and it is a big ask taking on some elders who have shown a high level of ability.
