Dark Red
We have had 8mm of rain here at La Grange but the Rowley Mile has only had 5mm so far although it is now raining again. I would expect the ground to be good to soft today if the forecast is correct but the rain radar suggests some of the rain will skirt us here. It was interesting to watch the racing at Del Mar last night, it really is a unique track and there will be a lot of hard luck stories later on today.
Dark Red is our only runner today and we are delighted to see the rain falling as he would not have run if the ground had remained fast. The more rain we get the better as it will not suit Boynton or Spark Plug. Air Pilot is ina similar position to us and he will appreciate a soft surface. Permission is improving and seems to be thriving currently, she is proven over course and distance and she is unlikely to be far away. Sands Chorus and Neshmaya need to improve a fair deal to win but you never know at this time of year and both cannot be completely discounted. Our horse has had a long season but he has held his form well and seems in good form at home. He deserves to step up in class and take his chance here and I hope he can run a big race.
