Hello from Newmarket. While yesterday’s runners did not pass the post in front, they all performed with credit, and gave us plenty of food for thought regarding their future targets. Mawsool looked a little tapped for toe when the pace quickened and may need a step up in trip. Alternative Fact travelled very well and faded late on. We may consider dropping him back in trip. Roxy Art ran very well and may have been beaten by a very talented newcomer. She pulled well clear of the third, and she should be capable of building on this. Today we intended to run two, but with the change in ground at Newbury we have decided to wait with Global Giant, leaving Sanam as our sole runner at Wolverhampton when lining up in the twelve-furlong at 7.45. After three consecutive wins, his fortunes have dipped in his recent runs. Given he travels well in his races, we decided to try dropping him in trip and have added cheek pieces for the first time. They may help his concentration a little. It is an experiment, but if having the desired effect, I hope we will see more spark in his performance.
