I have headed to Ascot today and  as ever it promises to be a fun afternoon. The ground will still be on the soft side but thankfully it has dried out a little. I worked a lot of horses on the Limekilns today and it was fantastic ground, hopefully I will be able to get some two year old debutants out next week.

Indian Warrior finished third behind what looks like an above average horse at Brighton yesterday. He will head into Nursery company now. Zamjar ran well in the 6f handicap and with more luck he may have placed, he has a race or two in him.

Manjaam runs in the Shergar Cup Challenge at 2:15. He is returning from a break and the ground may be slower than ideal but he seems in good form at home and I hope he can run respectably. It's a competitive affair and Niblawi looks the horse everyone has to beat as he has recent from over course and distance on slow ground.

We run three horses at Lingfield this evening. First Quest runs in the 1m4f handicap at 5:40. It is a very open affair and having shown a little more last time, he has a little each way chance. Global Exceed runs in the 6f Nursery and I still think he is well handicapped but the ground is a concern. He has handled it before but it might be quite tough going this evening. Atalanta Queen is a winner albeit in Claiming company and is proven on the ground and she has seven pounds taken off of her back. In a weak race she would look like the main danger but Princess Lyla could be open to improvement. Global Wonder is our last runner and he shaped with plenty of promise on debut, Yaafour does set a good standard though and will be hard to beat.
