Red Cadeaux third in the Hong Kong Vase

Mon 12 December 2011

We have returned from Hong Kong very proud of how RED CADEAUX ran in The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Vase. We would never have imagined at the beginning of the year that he would have been just touched off in the Melbourne Cup and finish third in a Group 1 over a mile and a half.

Ryan Moore, who gave him a good ride, simply said that the ground was too firm for him and considering this he has run a fantastic race.

He leaves Hong Kong tonight and, all being well, will return to the yard sometime on Wednesday. He will have a well-earned holiday before deciding whether he goes to Dubai for the World Cup meeting.

Particular congratulations to Steve Nicholson who has looked after him fantastically well in Australia and also to Robin Trevor-Jones, both of whom have now been away from the yard for nearly nine weeks. I am sure they can't wait to get back to the warm weather we have in Newmarket at the moment!
