RED CADEAUX has now been in Australia for the best part of a week in his preparation for the Melbourne Cup on 1st November.
Speaking from Australia our Travelling Head Lad, Robin, reported that he had travelled there extremely well and only lost 5 kilos throughout the journey. He went on to say "œHe is showing that he is very well in himself. We have had rain today and there is more rain forecast for the early part of next week, so we are hopeful that the ground will be on the easy side."
From his La Grange base, Ed quoted, "œI have been advised by Robin that he has settled in extremely well in Melbourne and is recovering well from his long journey. We plan to do very little with him this week and he will be ridden on Monday by Michael Rodd, in order for him to get to know him a bit before the big race. As reported there has been some rain and there is more forecast, so fingers crossed this stays in our favour!"
