James & Senior Whim leading the string.

Rain this morning but dry and overcast now.

I hope you all enjoyed an excellent weekend. The weather has made things pretty miserable, but Ejbaar brightened our afternoon yesterday when careering away with the mile maiden at Pontefract.

The race fell apart with the Godolphin newcomer offering very little, but Ejbaar strode clear impressively and seemed to relish some ease in the ground. We will see how the handicapper reacts on Tuesday week, although it was important to get a win into this horse, him being the first foal out of the Albany Stakes winner Habaayib.

As for the rest of the weekend, Zarwaan ran another super race in the International at Ascot but the handicapper appears to have caught up with him now. We will likely head back to Listed company with him next.

No runners today but Oasis Fantasy snuck into the bottom of the Summer Stakes tomorrow and he will be partnered by Richard Hughes. Prince Gagarin has been declared for the Gordon Stakes on Wednesday and Frankie will get the leg up on him. Ease in the ground is a plus for both.

A handful of entries for the weekend including God Willing in the seven furlong handicap at the July Course on Saturday and Island Remede in the Chalice Stakes, which we will compare to the Lillie Langtry.

No Golden Horn in the King George but the race was a super spectacle nonetheless, with Andrea Atzeni giving Postponed an outstanding ride. We can now look forward to seeing the Derby winner in the Juddmonte International, where a clash with Time Test is one to savour.

If you haven’t already seen the video of Red Cadeaux enjoying life in his paddock at the weekend you can do so here: https://twitter.com/eddunlopracing/status/625212596686319616

Finally, Glorious Goodwood is my favourite meetings of the year and I am looking forward to heading down the south coast to spend time with friends and family. Martha kicked off the weekin excellent style at a very wet Ickworth Park yesterday, turning in one clear round and one down as her team finished seventh in the area showjumping. She is off to pony club camp at Tattersalls today.

Back tomorrow.
