A slightly cold but dry morning here today thankfully. It was very strange to see the Greenham run on the all-weather but we must be thankful that the trials were able to take place despite the unseasonable weather. Everything had an easy morning today and there were no Monday morning dramas, the horses continue to look well and are fresh.

We had the two runners on Saturday night at Wolverhampton, Cafoo showed a little promise on his debut in the one mile four and a half maiden and Inniscastle Lad showed us very little in the mile handicap. We will more than likely drop him in trip and reach for some headgear when he is next seen on the racecourse. We have two declared tomorrow and three declared at the good Epsom meeting on Wednesday. It then quietens down before getting very busy come the weekend as we made sixteen entries today.

Marenko backed up her win at Kempton in the Conditions race there by winning The Fred Darling and she looks a lovely big strong filly. It was hard to assess the Greenham as there was only three runners and the third was too keen and did not stay, so you have to guess as to how much Knife Edge has improved for his seasonal debut when weighing up the race. I thought Dartmouth was impressive when winning the John Porter from the recent Doncaster winner Sandro Botticelli.

One hopes that the drying forecast will be correct as there are some good cards being staged over the week ahead and there are some informative races with Trials being staged. If they are run on decent ground we will know a lot more and hopefully see decent fields.
