It is extremely cold here in HQ and it is still -2. The Breeders Cup took place in a little warmer conditions on Saturday at Del Mar and everyone looked to really enjoy the setting. It did seem a very tight track to be running Championship races on but there is the argument that everyone knew the configuration of the course before they sent their horses and it was quite a spectacle, it was mazing to see some of the fractions clocked during the evening. Gun Runner was very brave when winning the Classic and it was great to see two Europeans winning feature races on Saturday night in Talismanic and Wuheida.

Dark Red ran respectably when fourth in the James Seymour on Saturday but a faster pace and bigger field appears to suit him better. He will have a well deserved holiday now.

Red Verdon is our only runner today in a very open Floodlight Stakes at Kempton this afternoon. On last year's form this 12f trip should suit him better than the 10f he has been performing with credit over recently. He disappointed over 12f at Newmarket back in September but I think we can draw a line through that performance and he has an each way chance today. Best Of Days ran much better at Newmarket recently, Western Hymn won this race last year but carries a penalty, Dylan Mouth is smart when on song and Connecticut should step forward from his first run after a long layoff. Every runner has something to prove and it is an interesting race.
