Global Revival Gives De Sousa A Comeback Winner

Fri 15 July 2016

Global Revival headed to Leicester for the seven furlong Nursery with some promise under his belt. He had been fourth over a furlong shorter on his second start and after his third run he had undergone a gelding operation. The son of Kyllachy was soon settled by Silvestre De Sousa at the rear of the field and given plenty of cover in the early stages of the race. As the field entered the last two furlongs the Champion began to make his move and our horse started to find plenty for pressure. He gradually wore down the favourite Hedging and got on top at the line to win cosily.

It might not have been the strongest race but Hedging had won previously and hopefully our gelding can continue to progress from here. He won this race from a provisional mark of 70 and so he will now move into a mark around the mid-seventies. The step up to seven furlongs suited him and he could well get a mile as he progresses, he is from a family that improves with racing and hopefully he will follow that trend.

Congratulations to his owner Dr Johnny Hon who has also had success with Global Applause this season. He has three horses in training here at La Grange and both horses that have run have now won. It is fantastic to win with the first Nursery runner of the campaign and we hope that the two year olds can help propel us towards the fifty winner mark. Well done also to everyone here at La Grange.
