Beautiful clear skies this morning but we had 8mm of rain overnight and the ground on the Rowley mile has subsequently eased. I worked some horses on the Al Bahathri this morning and I was happy with how they went. We have recently acquired a Go Pro camera and we trialled it for the first time this morning, I hope to be able to release some footage in the near future that I hope will be of interest once it has been edited.

It was fantastic to get to ten wins for the month when Inniscastle Lad won yesterday, it was slightly unexpected as he is so lazy at home but it was only a three runner field and Silvestre was very strong on him. Harlestone Hopes also ran well when second under one of my Apprentices Harry Burns but he ran into a well handicapped rival. Girl With A Pearl was disappointing up at Redcar and we shall give her a break before making further plans with her. Shingwedzi failed to finish off her race in a strongly run one mile five furlongs race at Chelmsford and I think we need to drop her back in trip and find a race for her on the turf.

Ed Walker and Peter Chapple-Hyam were no doubt delighted with the rain that fell last night and Marcel and Stormy Antartic will both have enhanced claims tomorrow but Air Force Blue very much sets the standard on his two year old form. We have two runners on Sunday and I will talk about them and our two Goodwood runners in tomorrow’s blog.

I am up at the Sales today for the Guineas Breeze Up sale and whilst there isn’t the same amount of quality on offer that there was at the Craven Breeze up, there are still some nice horses on offer. Charlie Gordon- Watson purchased a bay First Defence colt who will be coming to La Grange later on today and he looks to be a nice horse who breezed well.
