Circling after work this morning.

Just a quick update from the back of a Hong Kong taxi following a 13-hour flight. I am on my way to a pre-race gala dinner, which should be a good tonic following a three-hour delay at Heathrow!

The setback means I did not land until after declarations for Sunday were completed, but I have spoken to my team and it appears everything has gone smoothly.

Dark Red will represent us at the inaugural Flat fixture at Wetherby when he contests the 7f maiden, while Sporting Prince and Thanaaya both go down the road for the 1m maiden at Chelmsford. Drawn in stalls 15 and 14 respectively, we could have been dealt a kinder hand!

Nik oversaw a quiet work morning as we sent six runners to the Al Bahathri for a six-and-a-half-furlong piece. Debby, free from any Diner duties, very kindly videoed the gallop for me so I will be catching up intently in the morning.

Two runners this afternoon. Dutch Uncle runs in the 1m2f handicap at Doncaster, which is a competitive heat with all six seemingly capable of better, but we think our lad is on a fair mark and the trip on the turf should be spot on for him. Hopefully he can be very competitive.

At Sandown, Seaworthy runs in the 1m2f fillies' maiden. By Sea The Stars, she is nicely related and this looks an excellent starting point for her.

A couple of entries for next Thursday this morning, with Kitten’s Red and Field Of Light – who are both entered at Windsor – given the option of running at Lingfield so we can keep one eye on the weather over the weekend.

I will visit Cads in the morning for the first time and will update you all then.

That's it for now. Ed.
