Manjaam

It was another fantastic day of racing at Royal Ascot yesterday and Big Orange was exceptionally tough when beating Order Of St George in the Gold Cup. He found more when Order Of St George came to challenge him and dispelled any doubts as to whether he would stay the 2m4f trip.

Trip To Paris failed to fire in the Gold Cup, he travelled enthusiastically in the first half of the race and I hoped that he would show some spark but when Andrea asked him to quicken and move into contention he did not pick up. Wealth Tax picked up a lucrative pot at Chelmsford when winning the 1m handicap under a good ride from Joey Haynes and it was fantastic to see him breaking his Maiden. Sagely ran an encouraging race there when finishing third in the 1m2f handicap.

We have two runners at Royal Ascot today. Armum runs in the Albany and she is a nicely bred filly that we purchased at the London Sale on Monday evening. She looks a nice sort and the front pair were well clear of the field at Chester, so I hope she can step forward on that run and run a nice race.  Manjaam runs in the Duke Of Edinburgh, as usual it looks like a ferociously hot race. He didn’t appear to stay 1m6f last time and so we are dropping him back to 1m4f today. We have put the blinkers on to help make him concentrate and from a good draw I hope he can run a respectable race.
