Another beautiful morning here at HQ but we had a sharp frost overnight and everyone had to wrap up warm during first lot.

I was very pleased that King Kevin got his head in front last night, it didn’t look likely when he blew the start but the leaders failed to get home and he won cosily in the end. Qaswarah ran respectably when finishing in the mid division in the mile fillies’ Novice and she is a big filly who I hope will strengthen over the Winter.

Global Spirit is our only runner at Lingfield today and he runs this morning at 11:50. This looks a tougher race than the one he was second in recently but he is drawn better today and some of the main dangers on paper are drawn wide. He is still lightly raced and I hope there is some more improvement to come from him.

Cwynar was second to an improving type last time, Montague has won two of his last three and he is likely to attempt to make all again from stall three. High Seas was sixth in a race that is working out very well on debut and has shown ability in two subsequent runs but she has a bad draw to overcome. Enrolment also has a double figure draw but she won last time and remains lightly raced and Insurgence and Grace’s Secret make their Nursery debuts. We are four pounds well in but it does look a competitive affair and I am hopeful of a big run from a nice draw but am mindful that there are other lightly raced horses with improvement to come in opposition.
