Ode To Paris

I am glad to be in the sunshine currently as it seems that after a freezing night in HQ it is now snowing heavily. It was fantastic to win a Maiden with Moamar up at Newcastle yesterday, he showed a good attitude to stick his neck out and see the Mile out well. The horses appear to be fresh and in top form currently and it is great to get 2017 off to a good start.

We have one runner in the first at Lingfield this afternoon and he appears to have a solid chance. Ode To Paris returned over seven furlongs and shaped with a deal of promise when finishing fourth. He showed signs of freshness early in the race and given the slow pace he was  disadvantaged by being at the rear of the field. He now drops in grade to a 0-65, his mark has dropped two pounds to 65 and from what we have seen at home and on the track a Mile should bring about some improvement as long as he settles better this time. The one negative is the draw out wide in stall 9 but hopefully we can overcome it and he can run a big race.

There are some similarly unexposed types in opposition and the well drawn Wily Rumpus showed a good attitude when winning at Leicester on his last run. Tisbutadream has shown promise in his Maidens but is drawn outside us in ten. No Not Again drops in grade today having shown more in a 0-75 from a sliding mark last time and he must have a live chance if repeating that effort. There has also been money for the unexposed Mac’s Kyllachy who is bred to appreciate the step up in trip.
