Ed '' still deliberating '' over Native Khan

Tue 12 October 2010

NATIVE KHAN, our unbeaten two-year-old who won the G3 Solario Stakes at Sandown last month, looks like getting his favoured fast ground for Saturday's G1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes, but Ed won't make a final decision on whether he runs until just before declaration time (10am) on Thursday.

Ed, speaking from Newmarket Sales, said:"It has been another lovely drying day up here and the ground looks as if it is no longer an issue, but there is no doubt that Native Khan would face very strong opposition, with three potential superstars in Frankel, Dream Ahead and Saamidd standing in our way, so we will sleep on it and I'll talk to the owners before pressing either the green or the red light on Thursday.

"Plan B remains the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on Saturday week, when we would come up against Casamento and Dunboyne Express amongst others, but, while initially I was worried about rain on Town Moor, I see that they are only forecast one day of showers between now and the start of the meeting, so with luck we could wait and still get our ground up there."

Ed also revealed that RED CADEAUX, his totesport Cesarewitch contender, worked well on Tuesday morning and is all set for the first leg of the autumn double, while SNOW FAIRY, our dual Oaks heroine, is also pleasing the trainer as she prepares for the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes.

"Snow Fairy is in great form and has come out of the St Leger fine, but the Champion looks ultra-competitive and it will be a very tough race," added the trainer.
