Busy day at La Grange

TANFEETH beat Spifer at Newmarket in July, and, while Ed concedes that Luca Cumani's horse, who drifted half-way across the July Course, was unlucky not to win, it is surprising that the bookmakers have Tanfeeth at double the odds of Spifer for the £150,000 Ladbrokes Mobile Handicap at Ascot on Saturday.

Ed said:"We might have been fortunate to beat Spifer at our home course, but the luck turned against us at Goodwood, where Tanfeeth found himself in front way too early. He would probably have won instead of finishing fifth had he been held up longer, but he runs off the same mark here and should again be in the shake-up."

SWIFT GIFT has his second race for us since coming from Brian Meehan's stable when he runs in the big seven furlong handicap. Ed added:"He is a horse who loves Ascot, and he ran a stormer on his first run for us in the Shergar Cup Mile there last month. He had to be switched at a crucial stage, and, though he was finishing best of all, it won't inconvenience him dropping back to seven furlongs and he has a chance in what looks a very competitive handicap."

PIRANHA, who got messed about at the start when trying her luck in Listed company at Newbury last time, drops back into a nursery at Haydock, while SUSAN STROMAN has won twice recently on the Polytrack and clearly likes the surface. She is 7lb higher at Kempton, but she seems in good order at home.
