Across the card Saturday double for La Grange

Red Avenger stepped up in trip to one mile two furlongs and scored convincingly in the Bet365 Class 2 handicap at Haydock on Saturday, under a confident ride from treble seeking Andrea Atzeni .

Mr Arculli's War Font colt travelled well behind the leader, and when asked to challenge, picked up readily to win by three lengths.

After being denied a win by a neck at Doncaster on her last run, Invincible Cara continued her upward progression and gave the yard an across the card double, when winning with authority at Nottingham.

Held up in the early stages of the race, Invincible Cara moved decisively through the field on the rail into a challenging position. Jockey Adam Kirby did not panic when the gap did not appear until well inside the final furlong, but when the opening did come, Invincible Cara quicken immediately and put the race to bed in a matter of strides for her owners Anamoine limited.

Auction was a very unlucky fourth in the Coral distaff stakes at Sandown, as she had no luck in running with every gap being denied to her.
