Tadleel

Good morning from Newmarket. It was pleasing to see Jabalaly return to form with a good third place finish at Kempton yesterday, and hopefully we can continue in a similar vein with Tadleel at Chelmsford this evening.

He runs in the mile 0-85 handicap at 8.15, having made a very pleasing return from over a year off at Kempton last month. There is always the danger of the dreaded bounce factor, but there appeared no fluke about his comeback effort and it suggested that he retains all of his ability. He has run sluggishly once before at Chelmsford, which is a slight note of concern, but he was out of form at the time and hopefully it was a one-off.

Although Tadleel won over seven-furlongs as a juvenile, his very best form at two and three was over a mile, so hopefully this step back up to that distance today is in his favour. This race is a competitive contest featuring a mixture of in-form and fairly handicapped rivals, few of whom can be readily dismissed. However, our horse appears to be in good form, this looks the right trip and grade for him, and there should not be too many excuses. Hopefully he has a small each way chance, Jim Crowley takes the ride.

All the best,
Ed.
