The sun rising over La Grange Stables

Good afternoon,

The sun is continuing to shine here at La Grange and the horses are in good form.

Last week started with a bang when BELLARENA LADY scored at Yarmouth under a brilliant ride from Mark Crehan. She has come out of her race feeling fresh and well. We will see how she goes this week and maybe look at taking her to the Royal meeting at Ascot next week.

Reflecting on JOHN LEEPER’s run at Epsom. It was no doubt a disappointment after all the excitement and build up to the Derby. We are deflated that ‘Johnny’ will not be adding the Epsom Classic to his pedigree. Due to his position in the race it is hard to gauge where to go next, a step back in trip looks likely, nonetheless we still have faith! Thankfully and most importantly, the horse has come out of his race in extremely good condition and you would never know he has had the run.

Looking ahead to this week’s runners, Thursday I will be running four horses across three meetings. First to run will be STERLING KNIGHT, the smart two-year-old Camelot colt who ran a very creditable fourth first time out at Newbury. He lines up at Nottingham under Silvestre De Sousa in the six furlongs Novice Stakes.

AJRAD will head to Yarmouth in a bid to break his maiden. The son of New Approach has been unlucky to have been placed five times from six runs, hopefully Thursday will be his day!

The evergreen TORO DORADO heads to Haydock for the evening meeting, where Kevin Stott will partner him in the ten furlong King’s Moss Handicap. RED GLORY will also be running at Haydock in the Windle Handicap, David Allen takes the ride.

Best of luck to all connections!

Ed
