Afternoon all,
It was a chilly winter’s morning here in Newmarket. All is well around the yard as we look ahead to the upcoming season. The yearlings are cantering away nicely and everything is beginning to take shape.
It was great to have Mr Quy and Mr Milmo around this morning before they headed off to Tattersalls for the February Sale.
Roca Magica ran really well at Wolverhampton last week where the slowly run race did not suit. However, she ran on strongly through the line into 3rd and definitely remains in good form.
Gottardo has been declared to run at Chelmsford in the 7f handicap this evening. We know he likes it there and the distance should pose no issues. He is very well in himself at home and regular partner Sophie Smith rides. Phoenix Star looks an obvious danger, whilst Classic Star won over course and distance last time out, although he is 7lb higher for that victory. However, let’s hope it is Gottardo who is the star of the show!
Grandscape has been declared in the last at Lingfield on Saturday. Sophie also takes the ride. It look’s a nice race for him and he should be competitive from stall 1.
Around the yard Global Art has been showing us his best dance moves (see our latest Instagram post) whilst Global Destination appears to be trying to master the role of an escape artist (see attached image). It must be all the polos Mr Turner brings them!
I will keep you all posted on any further changes.
All the best,
Ed
