The string on their way home

Another sharp frost overnight meant we had to change our plans first lot and head to Warren Hill and then Long Hill. We had planned to go to the Al Bahathri but we went there second lot when the route there was safer and put some of the horses through their paces. The sleet was extremely heavy and it was an unpleasant morning to say the least.

I was very happy with Flinty Fell’s run yesterday. She was making her debut at Lingfield and she saw her race out nicely to finish third. One hopes that she will have learnt plenty and will improve on this when she comes out next time. There is a fillies’ maiden in two to three weeks that I will take a look at as long as she shows us that she has taken her race well.

It is normally Irish Raiders that head over here to plunder our All Weather prizes but both Sir Mark and Mark Johnston grabbed the spoils at Dundalk last night. Watersmeet qualified for the All-Weather-Finals day at Lingfield in the process when making all in the Fast-Track Qualifier.

Enjoy today’s action and I hope you manage to keep warm. The rest of the Meydan card should give us some clues towards World Cup night and there is an interesting Listed three year old race over 7f at Lingfield too.
