As the team of horses continue in the same vein of form on the AW as they did during the turf season it was great to see some yard favourites win as 2023 draws to a close and bring the total to a fantastic 70 winners for the year – Eds second best ever!
Within the space of a week Sterling Knight, for Mr Turner, and Philos, owned by the boss, both won, for a second time this season, in good style at Wolverhampton and Kempton respectively. They were both ridden by Rossa Ryan who has also had a tremendous year, reaching 200 winners and partnering plenty of the La Grange residents to victory.
Then finally, just before Christmas, Palazzo Persico got us across the line of 70 winners when scoring for owners Johnny Hall and Mrs D Nutting at Kempton. He was given a very cool ride by Jack Mitchell after being slowly away and finishing strongly.
It is a brilliant outcome to have reached 70 winners for the year and we very much have the all the team including vets, farriers etc and of course all the owners to thank! Fingers crossed 2024 will be just as successful.
