Double On The Day

Mon 18 April 2022

MUHTASHIM was the first winner of the day, when defying a seven pound penalty to get the better of the William Haggas trained, WILKINS, on the line at Beverley.

The three-year-old son of Muhaarar was last seen winning at Newcastle back in March on his second start. Jumping from stall two, Muhtashim took a keen hold under Ben Curtis, who then sat the bay gelding in mid field. Travelling strongly two furlongs out, Curtis pushed Muhtashim into the lead. He then battled on gamely to win by a neck on the line.

Huge congratulations to his owners, The La Grange Partnership!

We then turned to the action at Wolverhampton less than 15 minutes later, where BLUE FLAME lined up in the Download The At The Races App Handicap over seven furlongs. Paired up with Dan Muscutt, the four-year-old son of Dark Angel jumped from stall eight and sat prominent. Muscutt moved forward to press the leader from over two furlongs out before taking the lead turning the bend for home. From there the pair simply cruised home to win by a comfortable length and a half.
