It was a successful week to finish off May with 3 winners and a few close up placings.
Philos scored at Wolverhampton under a positive ride from champion jockey Will Buick over a mile a half. As a horse that finished 2nd on his last 2 starts and has had a busy spring campaign with further placings it was satisfying to see him get his head in front.
Trip to Rome then went on to score impressively on the Kempton Park All Weather the following day under Neil Callan in a 7f novice contest.
The week was finally topped off when Dog Fox won over 1m2f at Haydock Park eased down by jockey Neil Callan for owner breeders Preston Lodge Stud. This gelded son of Cityscape is from a family that Ed is familiar with and his patience with a horse who has taken time to mature into his big frame has resulted in Dog Fox winning both of his starts this term, still looking open to further improvement. Congratulations must go to connections at the stud and his team at home including Harriet Shearer who rides him out every day.
