The brilliant RED VERDON battles it out to win the Listed Coral Marathon (The Esher Stakes) at Sandown Park under a masterclass ride from Ryan Moore.
With two miles to run, Moore settled the son of Lemon Drop Kid at the back of the field where he cruised along patiently. As they turned into the home straight, Ryan picked up Red and began to negotiate his way through the field, he then powered through to win by a length and a half.
This is now the eight-year-olds fifth victory in Pattern Company, and he is showing no signs of slowing down!
