Zoustar x Cheetah (Tiger Hill)

Zoustar’s unimpeachable record in Australia but relative obscurity in the northern hemisphere means now is the time to buy the progeny of the sprinting sensation.

Ed has done exactly that, picking up this striking filly in conjunction with JD Moore for 38,000 guineas at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

A Champion First-Season Sire in Australia as well as producing the first three home in the time-honoured Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes, Zoustar has cemented himself as one of the premier producers Down Under.

The quality of his stock in that part of the world looks sure to be reciprocated on these shores in time and this sister to a winner, as well as a half-sister to the Classic Trial-performer Dark Vader, could look very cheap this time next year.

She is out of the Group 3 Tiger Hill mare Cheetah, who showed her tenacity and durability by also being Grade 2-placed in the US. Her half-sister was Group 3-placed for James Fanshawe last autumn, while this is the further family of dual Derby winner Kahyasi and Group 2 Prix Kergolay winner Kassani.

A filly with significant residual value who looks racy herself, this is an excellent opportunity to buy into an emerging bloodline before the market has been able to correct itself.
