18-01-10 La Grange opens account for 2010
TRAINER ED Dunlop notched his first winner of the year when THUNDERING HOME struck at Wolverhampton on January 18.
The colt broke his maiden at the end of December with a win at Southwell and maintained his progress with this second consecutive success.
Sent off the 11/8 joint favourite, he followed up in game fashion for Hayley Turner.
The leading female rider had the son of Storming Home tracking the leaders for much of the four-runner race, staged over an extended mile, but Turner and her mount got down to serious work approaching the final furlong before mastering House Red inside the closing stages and going on to score by a length and a quarter.
Hopefully, Thundering Home's win will be the first of many for La Grange in the next 12 months!
